I have a dell inspiron computer and I am trying to connect it to my rca TV... I have a vga to rca cable and it look like it connects but the screen is distorted(lines going through it) I can faintly see my desktop on the TV... I have tried all the setting I read online but I still think I'm missing something... please help

Did you tell the computer that your sending the signal that way? It may thing its going to a reguler monitor.
