OK, I've never used this sight before, but here goes. I'm 19 years old, there is no way that I am pregnant, and I am 195lbs about 60 pounds over the ideal weight for my height. Well, I have never really been regular with my period, maybe every 3 to 9 months. What can I do to become more regular, Can I still get pregnant? I know I should go to an OBGYN, but can't afford it and it's pretty embarrassing. Can you help?
Thank you

You need to go to an OBGYN, if you have insurance it want be expensive. If you only have your period every three to nine months then you only ovulate every three to nine months. You can still get pregnant but may be a little difficult. I really advise you to see a doctor.

Everyone can go afford to go to their local health departments. The embarrassment about your body issue can and may kill you one day. Do you have any idea how many painful and deadly conditions could be avoided by getting over the embarrassment thing. You are not going to be embarrassed when you are making your baby. I promise you that there is not one thing about your body that the doctors and nurses have not seen. Please, you are so young, please get over that. I am a nurse and I have seen people die due to their being ashamed to get naked or have certain tests done.
As far as irregular periods go, they will probably get more regular when you maintain a healthy weight. Birth control pills also have the added benefit of regulating your period almost immediately. One more thing, have your thyroid checked. Mine went bonkers and so did my cycles.
