I have a 1995 Mazda Millennia. Coming down the road yesterday the suspension started "knocking" then I heard grinding and I believe the axle has fell out. Can anyone tell me what may be wrong. The car won't go into gear. I had to push it home!! Also how big of a project is this to fix? Can I do it at home? Any help please!:confused:

It's a pretty decent undertaking... might not be that easy for someone that hasn't tackled automotive repair in depth! And the tools required may amount to the cost of having someone else do it... not to say that you can't but I don't know your skill level. There could also be a chance that you have transmission issues as well.

Does it usually happen when you make sharp turn? I was thinking maybe it's the front struts or the front drive shafts. Btw, check for loose cans or items in the boot, on the wheel or door pockets.
