Our gas forced hot air furnace is leaking water from underneath. A little stream runs from the area of the filter towards the floor drain. When I changed the filter last week the bottom of the cardboard filter frame was full of water. Could it be humidity or condensation being caught by the filter? If so, why?

You may have a rubber tube that has came loose or came apart around the inducer motor or burner area. Do you have a make and model of the furnace?

It's a Heil, 7000 and it's at least 9 years old as it was in the house when we bought it... I noticed this a few times last year, but now it's constant. Thanks...

The system is notorious for the rubber drain lines to deteriorate crack and leak water.

THANKS! I'll go down this morning and take the panel off an take a look. I'll be able to see this? And is it an easy fix, like run to the hardware store and get a new piece of hose? Or is it a specific part?

Well I don't see any hoses that may be leaking. There is a little water pooling on the filter side of the shelf where the exhaust blower is mounted. This is above the filter though. Under neath all this where the blower is there is also some water, this is adjacent to the filter. I can't see where it's coming from...
