I have a Hackberry Tree and Hickory Nut Tree that I would like to see if there is a way to have them no longer produce nuts or berries?

The only way you could prevent the nuts or the berries would be to ban the bees or insects from pollenating the flowers. Other than that you could chop the trees down. Why would you want to stop these trees from bearing fruit? Do the birds eat the berries? If they do, then you would be helping the birds survive by keeping these trees bearing fruit for them to eat. How about any squirrels in your area? Do they eat the nuts off the trees? You'll help them to survive as well.

Well... there is a product you can spray on the tree to limit production of fruits, berries, and nuts called Florel. It must be sprayed at exactly the right time. Read and follow the label directions precisely for best effect.
You may need a license to purchase at your local Lawn&Garden.

See:
Florel(r) brand Growth Regulator, Information, Monterey Lawn and Garden (http://www.montereylawngarden.com/info/florel/)

Quote by JD:

I'm wondering why, also.

Mature Hackberry, and Hickory Nut Tree's can produce overwhelming amounts of their fruit, while the Hickory is edible the Hackberry is not.

Improperly positioned in the yard or around the house, they present a maintenance problem.

I'm just taking a guess here, but I'd bet mattsquestions trees are bouncing fruits off his roof, and it's driving him nuts!
