I have been a home daycare assistant since sept 2009. My employer paid me in personal checks, and then last week gave me a 1099-misc. I don't understand why I am getting a 1099 misc when I am a full time employee. I work mon-fri 8:00am-5:30PMon her terms. So I don't understand what I am supposed to do. My employment is on a full time basis, I don't work certain times during a month. Can somebody help me please, because I know I have to pay more taxes, and I am a single mom and I don't make enough money as it is. I can't afford to pay 15% of everything.

You always have to pay a percent of everything, normally they hold it out of your check, as a contract worker, you don't have it withheld and are suppose to be putting it back each week into a savings account to have the money to pay taxes.
Also if you are a 1099 worker, you are not covered by unemployment or workers comp if you get fired you can't collect and if you get hurt you can't collect either.
You need to talk to them about this year going forward, for last year it is what it is.
The personal check with no taxes held out should have told you to ask questions
