I have a 1994 Ford Explorer 4X4. I am a soldier in the U. S. Army. I recently failed the inspection due to excess play in the hubs. I was told there are three front ends. I just want to know which one I have so I can order the right bearings.the three I was told there are Dana, Spicer 35 and spicer 28. Please Help.
Thanks
Sgt need to fix it.

For axle shaft bearing, you need a Timken Part # 5707, $12.99, AutoZone. Dana/Spicer 35IFS Axle; Front Right
Put your VIN in the Motorcraft link below:
http://www.fordparts.com/Landing/Motorcraft.aspx
Based on AutoZone's and RockAuto.com's websites, it looks like you need Timken Part #5707:

Yes I am trying to get the right wheel bearings on order. The car care center will install them for me at a hefty fee but I am in school and can't get there for the wife.

For wheel bearings, it looks like Timken Set37, $15.99 at AutoZone. Put your 17 digit VIN in the Motorcraft link to confirm--go to Driveline and Axles, then Axle Bearings and Seals.

The VIN needs to be exactly 17 characters long, for it to work in the Motorcraft site.

I would go with Timken, since that's what Ford uses as OEM. I don't think, then, you'll order the wrong bearings.
