I noticed a leak around the base of the mb toilet a few days ago. We shut off the water to the toilet. However, I then noticed a water spot on the ceiling below! The spot appears to be dry. But I am concerned with mold...

Should I hire someone to take the toilet out and peer down into the floor?

I don't want to just fix the leak and then paint the ceiling only to have mold grow... help!!

Was this leak from the supply or from under the base? If from under the base The toilet has to come up and reset using a new wax ring. If you're concerned about mold between floors cut a square from around the water mark and check for mold. Save the square piece. It can be taped back up, spackeled in an d painted.
Good luck, Tom

Are you saying that you have water leaking past the handle?
**OR** Is it leaking down the back of the tank? **OR**
Is it leaking where the water enters the tank at the bottom? Before we can help we have to know the exact nature of your complaint/ Can you be more explicit? Tom
