Looking for a name of a movie from the late 70's to the 80's. All I can remember is the Quarterback was tackled really hard and is killed on the field. If anyone remembers this let me know! Thanks!

"Heaven Can Wait," with Warren Beatty, who plays a quarterback for the LA Rams (that dates the movie for you) whose soul is accidentally removed from his body by an angel during a bike accident. Towards the end of the movie he takes over the body of another quarterback who is killed on the field (during the Superbowl no less).
