Hi, All!

Okay, I've been between my home and the home where I'm house and dog-sitting. I move out of my home and into their home. I'm sure that some of you know what it takes to even leave your home for even a few days... clothes, personal care things, medications, etc.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a customer to remodal some kitchen cabinets. I just now realized, that I forgot about them!

I would like to find the right things to say in order to maybe get them back. I know that it's possible that they might have already gotten someone else.

Okay, my mistake as well as problem. I know that...

What would you suggest, please?

Thanks!

Always admit you're wrong when you mess up. Apologize and ask for the business again. Hard to know how to handle it without knowing the personality type of the customer.

Thanks NeedKarma!

Okay, I know that I blew it! Dang! The potential for some big bucks was really there! The customer is a lady who seems to be a really gentle sort. Really thought that what I have to offer is what they would want. I presume that she is married or, that there are others living in the home.

Hey, you've now grown a moustache, NK!

Cool! :D

I'd do what NK said. Just be honest. Tell them that you've got a lot of stuff on your plate and you simply forgot. I would rather have a contractor that was honest with me about a mistake than someone who brushed it off.

By being honest about this, you're setting up a healthy relationship with a client... and a client likes when their contractors are honest!
