My husband would like to adopt my daughter, he has been around since she was 2 (she is now almost 7) and her real father does not pay any kind of child support on her and has not seen or heard from him since may. He showed up last week but has not seen her and I would perfer he didn't!

First off, not seeing a child does not constitute abandonment. There is a sticky located at the top of the forum regarding this:

Also, you say that he hasn't seen her since May, but then say he showed up last week. Is there currently a court order allowing him visitation? Has he been ordered to pay support or did you not file? If he has been granted rights through court and you are concealing the child from him, that is going to get you into trouble.

I have a situtaion kind of like that but he hasn't seen the kids in over 9yrs and owes lots of back child support and made comments he doesn't want to have anything to do with them and they all have my maiden name and I want his name removed off the birth cerficate so my finance can add his name. I did not put his there we were married and the state did it

If the state added his name to the birth certificates, you cannot take his name off.

I want to change my daughters middle name what I wanted initially and more importantly if possible get him for abandonment he doesn't pay child support because I sent evidence to the state that he was a danger to my daughter because the current girlfriend he beat her up so she lost her baby and they ordered good cause what do I have to do for both her name and abandonment I don't want him ne were near my daughter nor do I think he cares last time he seen her was when she was two months old and maybe wrote me like 3-4 months ago saying he's trying to pick his life up before he beat up his girlfriend and also found out he's in jail right now for possibly 20 years how are my chances I just want my daughter safe and to have her rightful name
