I do not know how to adjust the temperature setting on my Moen shower faucets with scald guard. (Just bought house, no manuals found) I can see the white tooth gears, but it doesn't seem to make any difference if I put the outer one back in a different position.
What am I doing wrong.

Remove that white, plastic, notched, wheel completely. Reinstall handle. That should do...
