It is an outlet that has 4 holes, my house is very old, I would like to know how old so that is why I am doing some research.

4 hole outlets are for 220 volt machines. This will not help u determine age of house.
Check local tax dept. They would have records from day 1

If it is a receptacle with four slots, all parallel, and about the size of a regular receptacle then it is OLD. Like 1930's.
I know this is not old by house standards, but by electrical standards of equipment that is still installed it is OLD.

What exactly does this receptacle look like? You just have one in your house? Many Many years ago the phone company used a plug which had 4 round holes in it. It was a square box with 4 holes approximately 1/8" in a square pattern, about 3/4" on center. Can you supply a picture of this receptacle?
