Are you using only the printer manufacturer's ink?

If you are using refilled cartridges or third party ink cartridges, then that is most likely the cause of the failure.

If you are using the manufacturer's ink, then the new cartridges are covered by a warranty. Contact the company and let them know you received two defective cartridges.

One other thin, make sure that you've pulld all of the packing tape from over the contacts on the bottom of the cartridge.
