My a/c and fan is working fine. The heat will not kick on. The compressor comes on and we have checked all the breakers. We were told to push a reset switch, but cannot locate one! The fan also comes on while on heat setting, and fan "ON" but blows cold air. It also won't kick on when fan is on "AUTO". After we adjust the tstat, we hear a click, but then the heat does not come on. Please help, were cold!!

What kind of furnace, how old? What's the efficiency? Is it a heat pump?

It is a goodman, electric heater-heat pump. It was manufactured in 98, so its not too too old!

I don't think it is a simple reset. From what you have told me it is very hard to diagnose, heatpumps are a mass of low voltage wires the way they are. If you turn the thermostat to emergancy heat does anything happen?

The tstat does not have emergency heat setting

Do you live in the deep south where a back-up heat source is not needed?

I am having the same problem also. I have a all in one package unit and it does what you said but while on heat and the on part I feel some warmth coming out but when I shut off the heat switch it gets cold. I am confused also cause it got in the 30's last night in Orlando

I'm having the same problem. I have a Goodman A30-10 Air Conditioner/Electric heater unit. The fan blower turns on, but there is no heat. I can't find a troubleshoot site for the Goodman units. I need help too! :-(

I finally had to pay a guy to come out and this is what he did for my. I have a all in one package 4 ton unit and the heat was doing the same and he had to replace a heater control switch. I heard the same thing the "click, click" and nothing but when he put the new one in it blew hot again and everything was fine and no more on and back to auto. I hope this helped and it cost my 125 bucks total.
