Do any of those tax prep software programs contain all IRS forms? I file a regualr 1040 but I have to file an "Injured Spouse" form with it. So, typically I go get my taxes done by a CPA so they get done fast and get e-filed, but if I can do it myself and be able to e-file it, then I want to do so... but I just don't know if the software includes the IRS publication I need!

Anyone know?

Also, I have a W-2 from 2005 that I never filed state taxes for. I would have been owed a refund, I absolutely wouldn't have owed any money, I'm sure of that. So... can I file it now?

Would that tax prep software allow me to file that old state return as well or what? How would I even get the right documents to file the old W-2? I would like to e-file it as well.

As an edit... I just learned I am eligible for free-file. I can file my Federal for free and State for 9.95 through H&R Block. However, I do not know if they would include the Injured Spouse form for free if I do the free-file... I searched the site to no avail... it's imperative I file the Injured Spouse form with my federal return. The state return it doesn't matter, I don't need to do it for that one. Just the Fed. So does anyone know about free-file?

TaxAct does include the "Injured Spouse Allocation" form, and you can efile it with that form.

Yes, you can file the 2005 state tax return now; however, you have forfeited any claim to a refund by filing so late.

Thanks a lot! I took your advice and used TaxAct, I was very impressed with it. There was no fuss, no hidden fees or rebate processes and I didn't have to jump through hoops like with the other services I checked out! I ended up paying only $14.95 to e-file the State return, and the Federal was free. I just did them lastnight 2/14, and received an email already that my federal return was accepted, I am just waiting on the State to accept-it says it normally takes from 3-5 days.
