I have a 12 yr old Kohler kitchen faucet with separate handles and separate spout. The spout is leaking at the base only when either the hot or cold water is running or not. Do I have to unscrew the nut underneath the spout under the sink or can I remove it from the top? If I'm stuck with removing the nut, what kind of wrench should I use in such a confined space under there? Once I get it out, how do I fix the leak? I don't have the model number.

Hello Sky,

Open the links below I hope one of them is your faucet and it will show how to remove the spout and replace the seals, good luck.

John

Remove the handle. You will see a retaining nut,(see image) under the handle. Unscrew it and lift the spout up and out. Go to a plumbing store and purchase replacement "O" rings and a small tube of Silicon Jel. Replace the "O" rings and lube the "O" rings and the inside of the spout body with the Jel. Press the spout back on, tighten the retaining nut and replace the handle. Leak all gone now? Good luck, Tom
