I'm not sure of Florida's labor laws, so someone else will have to speak on that. But what I did as a kid was work some odd jobs for people in the area. Occasionally I would do more manual things like shoveling driveways. But mainly I fixed computers (as was my well-known talent back then). So I would suggest doing something like that. See if people need help with anything. Just go to some of your neighbours, explain you're trying to earn some spending money and that you're wondering what jobs they have for you. Just let your parents know where you're at when you're doing these jobs. :)

Hi, trinea911!

Do you really need that new iPod? You're already on the Internet. If you need clothes, have you checked out stores that sell used clothes? There might also be a community action agency around where you live that could help with getting you clothes.

As far as jobs are concerned - Do you live in a neighborhood where you have a lot of neighbors and maybe some elderly people who might be home most of the time?

Thanks!

You I do need the iPod touch for entertainment when I'm on the road and I'm on the road constantly for hours and I need my own music instead of my parents old school.
And I need clothes like apple bottom, baby phat, and us polo because I never bought me clothes from a thrift store or any clothes.
And I need a lot of entertainment

Correction: You want all of that.

You don't need name brands. And there are other forms of entertainment than iPods. If you just need music, then I would settle with something simpler than an iPod Touch. The iPod Touch is a pretty fancy piece of equipment, but if you just need music then check out Creative, Samsung, Sandisk, etc. They all make MP3 players that are a LOT less expensive than the Apple products.

And just because you have never purchased clothing from a thrift store before, does not mean that you still can't. If you really want to help your family out, then you should cut some costs somewhere. Besides, you can still find a lot of those name brands at thrift stores. The only way anyone would be able to tell that you bought them used is if you normally wear clothing with the tags still attached.

You can work 40 hours a week during the summer.
You can work at publix, and make about 150 dollars a week during the school year. But seriously thrift shops are super amazing. And consignment stores, it might be cheesy but instead of spending 300 dollars on 5 new jeans and 10 shirts you could be getting like 10 pairs of jeans and 20 shirts with money left over. Think about it hun
