When we have heavy rain, I have notice a strong sewage odor in our basement. Upon inspection, I've noticed what appears to be raw sewage water seeping through the cynder blocks along the wall beside our septic tank. Why is this happening? Our tank has been serviced within the last 6 months. Our home is about 60 yrs. Old and only have 2 people living in it.

Gosh, raw sewage seeping through cinder blocks, are your sure it is raw sewage? Seems like your septic is ruptured somewhere and leeking into the house and the ground water. Best to call your septic tank people.
Why would you wait if you see black water from the septic leaking into your basement??

Thanks Tickle, maybe I don't know what I'm actually seeing. The slight weeping that I've seen is not black at all, it's clear. Really it's just a trickle. Another symptom is if it's raining really hard, the toilets take a really long time to go down when flushed.
