I am trying to remove single handle from kohler K-R648.(Water is oozing from handle.) I have removed set screw, but handle will not come off. I don't want to force too hard and break something. Any suggestions.

I am experiencing the same problem, with the same faucet. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to get the handle off a Kohler Simplice faucet? Thanks!

Handle should pull straight up

Is this what it looks like ? There should be a small set screw behind the handle facing back wall. Loosen the screw and pull straight up. That should do...

I tried to pull the handle up too but it's not removing. Is there something else that needs to be done besides removing the set screw?

Same faucet, same problem. I gave it a good pull straight up and it came right off. The square black plastic on the top of the valve was stuck to the handle, so that's why it didn't come right off. I destroyed the square part when I removed it from the handle, but since I was replacing the valve I didn't care. If you're opening this up, chances are it is to replace the valve and spacer, so no worries...

After removing the set screw, I inserted a flat head screwdriver tip in the gap between the base of the handle and bonnet and gave it a gentle twist to pry it apart. It worked very nicely. Once the handle became a little dislodged from the base, I was able to pull it straight off.
