I smoke cigarettes but in the process of quitting and today I woke up with sore lungs. This doesn't happen often but it does happen once and a while. I'm just wondering if this is a normal thing that happens to smokers or if it's a bad sign to where I should go see a doctor.

When you quit smoking cigarettes you will experience all sorts of nasty symptoms. If that happens again may I suggest that you inhale some steam from a teakettle for a few seconds at a time. This should help hydrate your lungs. I have lungs that were smoke damaged in a house fire and I know all the tricks when I wake up with "hurting lungs".
