I have been unsuccessful trying to replace my divergent valve because I cannot find it. I think I now know where it is but do not have time to get the part. I put everything back together (with broken divergent valve) but now I am getting no water. I turned the water back on but still I am getting nothing. I need to do the dishes.

Dishes, so this is a kitchen faucet with a diverter, right? The diverter in an integral part of the valve. What did you take apart and how did you reassemble it? Brand/model may help us figure a fix

I took off the faucet portion above the sink. I guess in some faucets the diverter is right below the base of the faucet so I initially looked there. I brought the faucet to George Morlan plumbing but they did not recognize what brand it is. It seems that the diverter is under the sink where the plumbing lines converge.
After realizing I needed to return again to the plumbing store with the piece from underneath the sink, I put the faucet back together but now it does not work at all.
