My son is 3 yrs old. He refuses to walk around without a shirt on. Even when his dad also doesn't wear one when it's blazing hot and explains to him that men sometimes walk around without a shirt, he still will not give in. Why might that be?

It's a different feeling for him that he is not used to.

He proabably just feels more secure wrapped up a bit - rather like the way some babies are happy to be 'swaddled'. I wouldn't worry about it or push it if he's comfortable. When my son was that age his favourite attire was a pair of red wellies - and nothing else - which could be problamatic at times. Thankfully now that he is 23 he has grown out of it lol.

Must be going through a phase.

I knew a little boy who hated walking around without socks. He would always wear socks everywhere, even at home.He just felt uncomfortable when he did not have it on.He must have been around 7 or 8 at that time.

He is a few years older now and outgrown that socks stage.

Why be concerned about it? If he doesn't want to go shirtless, don't make him. Aren't there bigger problems in the world than your son not wanting to go naked from the waist up?
