What should the compression be on an older homlite chain saw.
Can't find any numbers on it,was told it was late 50 s or early 60 s
Has about 85-90 lbs

has about 85-90 lbsThe compression should be 60 to 120 lbs any thing below 60 is no good, so you should be okay.

Hi,
My experience is that 90-100 is kind of sad for most and 120 is the minimum for a decent engine. Good would be 150-160 for most.
