Im Nicole, 25 years old. My Dad was adopted when he was a baby but it was kept a secret from him until he found out when my mom was pregnant with me. My mom told me about the adoption when I was 14 but I was told not to talk about it with my dad or grandmother (who was raising me). When I turned 18 my dad always said he had something important to tell me but he wanted to wait until I was older. He died when I was 21 and never got a chance to tell me. After going through a bunch of paper work recently I found a christmas card for my dad dated 12/25/01 and in it were 2 photos of his biological father his first and last names were included and a picture of the lady Nonie (aunt Nonie) as she calls herself. They are from Kentucky and I would like to know more about the biological family. I have the last name and I have the address where she lived 9 years ago. Should I write a letter to this address and see if get any response? What information can I find out at this point? Her name was/is Nonie Wickliff and his biological fathers name is James Wickliff. My dad would be 50 years old turning 51 in September.

Since you have a name/address, sending a letter might be your best option.

If it comes back to you as "addressee unknown", you can at that point try whitepages.com for a listing for them, and try reunion websites.
