Hi. I have a cocker spaniel who is 9 weeks old. We have had him for a week. After being here a day he did a loose poo with a clear gell and red fluid around it. I assume it is blood. He doesn't always have blood type liquid around his poos. They are better when he does a more solid poo, but the sloppier the poo, the more red/clear gel we get. Any suggestions on what this might be?

Part of owning a dog, particularly one that is 9 weeks old, is getting appropriate medical/Vet care for him. What does the Vet say about this problem?
This is a question about dogs, not about health, and I have requested that it be moved.

Ok I know you are concerned about your pet, but I don't hink anyone can diagnose your pup. If you had a movement with blood in it, would you call your doctor? I know I would. Call your vet.
Generally, bloody poo in dogs indicates signs of gastrointestinal problems. But blood in the feces may sometimes be indicative of serious disorders in the body.
Here is a list of things it could be:
Bacterial infections like 'Clostridium' and 'Salmonella'
Certain allergies from food additives, emulsifiers or fats
Contraction of the anus or colon, due to cancer, trauma or inflammation
Different intestinal parasites like whipworm and ringworm
Disruption of colon or rectum, due to fractures in the pelvis area
Inflammation in the anal sacs or 'Anal Sacculitis'
Inflammation of the colon (Colitis) or the rectum
Overeating or ingestion of sharp things (bone, plastic, needles)
Presence of benign and malignant tumors in the abdomen
Presence of protozoal agents like 'Coccidiosis'
Sudden change in the dietary plan or consuming food meant for people
Viral infections such as 'Parovirus' and 'Coronavirus'
Other bleeding disorders in the body
Get him checked out.

Uh. Puppy, blood?
Warning signs, i.e. PARVO. Get your dog to the vet.
