What is the differrent between job description and job analysis?

A job description would give the details about what someone would do in a job.

A job analysis might involve how well someone has done their job according to following that which is outlined the in job description. Although, that could vary depending on why a job is being analyzed.

Job description: a list of duties, responsabilities, reporting relationships and working conditions of a job

Job analysis: the procedure for determining the tasks, duties and responsibilities of each job and the human attributes required to perform it (such as knowledge, skills, and abilities)
