I don't know if I'm just over reacting but like most relationships my boyfriend has little pet names for me, is it acceptable that he calls one of his female friends these names as well?

All it really is is a term of endearment.

If it is a pet name like 'you sexy gorgeous woman who sets my pants on fire', and it's said to another woman, I'd be concerned.

But, if it's honey, or sweetie or something simple and meaningless, I wouldn't get worked up about it.

It all depends on what the name is I think, I call my fiancé Pretty girl, wouldn't call anyone else that. But honey or hun, I don't see a problem
