When I turn the shower on a quarter of the way it comes on for 5 sec then shuts off. If I turn it all the way it doesn't come on at all. Anyway, it doesn't stay on for more than 5 seconds and its on very lightly. It is a fairly new (2 yrs old) shower. Thanks for any assistance.

HI, what kind of shower valve do you have? Single handle? Two handle? Sounds like you have a pressure balancing valve. In which case you have uneven pressure coming to the valve.
