I've been trying to find the name of this movie for so long. I haven't seen it in at least 11 years, so I apologize if the details are vague. It aired on the Lifetime Network in the 90's at least twice. The main character is a girl in High School who becomes involved in drugs at a party where she tries marijuana for the first time with a friend. I am almost positive the girls friend's name was Zoey, but I can't remember what the main character's name was. The girl starts to sneak out of her house to party with her new drug friends, and eventually gets into harder drugs, which start to effect her appearance and the way she is perceived by her peers at school. In a scene at a party the main character has lost track of her friend Zoey and eventually finds her, apparently dead of an overdose, in a bathroom. The movie ends with the main character at her high school graduation, having gotten over her drug addiction and giving a speech on her struggle as she receives her diploma. I have searched IMDB and other sources for the name of this movie, and the most common answer I come up with is "Go Ask Alice", the movie based on the book of the same name, which I've read and am sure it is not the same movie since the plot is totally different. However, I believe it was based on actual events, like the movie I'm looking for. Thanks to anyone who can offer help in satisfying my curiosity so I can finally find this movie!
