I'm writing you for a friend that has lost her job , lives in fl. 60 yrs old and owns a apt in Missouri that she can't pay for and wants to give it back to the bank . If she told them here are the keys and walks away , can they come after her in fl and attch her home here, and go after any money she has left to live on . Thank You Don Haley

Hello Don:

Yes, they can sue here anywhere for the deficiency and if she loses they will attach her other home.

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

The bank doesn't want the property. They want their money. So they will sell the property after filing a foreclosure against her. Then they will sue her for the balance of the loan.

Has she tried renting it or a short sale?

First she can't just "give them the keys" the bank can if THEY want take the property back instead of foreclosure. But the bank can merely demand they keep paying, then if they don't, the bank can foreclose.

Have they tried to sell it
