My plunger in bathroom sink won't work.It looks like there is a ring broken that goes through the bottom of eye in plunger.I don't know how to access it to get it out to replace.

Usually, the Clevis strap got loose and is not engaging the pivot rod. Take flashlight, crawl inside the cabinet and check it out.

Use a flashlight and look down into the lavatory drain where the "plunger" goes and see if you can see a small rod sticking into the opening from the back portion of the drain. If you do not see this rod then it has become rusted and has broken off, this metal is not a very good metal. Take the nut loose under the bowl that holds the rod in place. Take this to a plumbing shop or hardware store and see if you can find another just like it.

The pop up in drain is not connected and it looks like there is a ring inside the drain that is broken that the eyelet on bottom of plunger was connected to.dont know how to get it out.
