I have a few questions regarding shoplifting theft under $5000. In May 2009 I was caught in a superstore. On July 10Th 2009 police took my fingerprints and pictures and on July 22nd 2009 court withdraws the charges and I paid $125.00 community charity. After 5 months I send a request for destroying fingerprints.

I applied for a security guard license .During background check they said there is something on your record.I applied after 5 months after case withdraw. Now my question is how long it will take fingerprints to be completely removed ? And for how long it will effect my record?

Now I have received a letter from retail recovery to pay $325.00 with in 15 days.If I don't pay it then I will have to face civil court.my question is if I don't pay it is it going to effect my credit history?

The fingerprints will be taken out of the local data base, if they were entered into a national data base they will never be gone,

But fingerprints only and I say ONLY say who you are, not that you did a crime, that you are anything criminal,

There is or would be an arrest record somewhere,

But in today's society many companies use private search firms to do background checks, their computers find and store data before it is sealed or destroyed in government computors, so that info is always there in thiers.

Also yes, besides the criminal in Canada they can get you to pay civil penalites also
