The only thing wrong with my old ice maker was that the water would leak pretty bad at inlet hose, spilling into the tray and freezing the ice. I bought a new ice maker, just like the old one, and it doesn't work at all. No ice. The parts man said you had to wait 24 hours before it would work. I waited 24 hours and still no ice. The old ice maker will still work when I replace the new with the old, but it still drips water pretty bad at the same place. I need an answer to either question: 1)why does the old ice maker drip water at the water inlet nozzle? Or 2) what could be wrong with the new ice maker?

Sounds like you have a bad valve at the water inlet. Are you sure you turned the water to it back on ? If it is dripping into tray causing a block of ice in your pan, then the tube supply for water is not positioned correctly in the tray or the unit is not mounted securely against freezer wall making it un-level. These are quick and simple causes and cures.
