View Full Version : Can a ex con hunt with a compound bow in Nevada?

I'm a resident of Clark County Las Vegas, Nevada. I want to know if I can LEGALLY hunt with a compound bow in the state of Nevada? Can anyone help me out here?

Felons cannot own FIREARMS. Bows and arrows aren't firearms.

If this answer was made into a Venn diagram, the two circles would not be in the same ballpark. :)
I quickly looked at Title 15, Revised Statutes of Nevada (http://www.leg.state.nv.us/Nrs/), and didn't see anything about ex cons (misdemeanor or felony) in possession of weapons. If there is such a statute, one would have to look at the definition of weapon to see if bows are included.
Federal law must be looked at too. As I recall, it doesn't prohibit a felon from possesssing a bow.
