I originally bought my home in 2004 and I had no previous experience in home owning and taxes related to it. This is the first home I have ever owned. For 2004, a professional did my taxes however, did not claim my new home on the taxes, and she had knowledge of the new home owner deduction. Is there a way I can refile those 2004 taxes that I was cheated out of by someone who didn't know what they were doing?

What was the "new home owner deduction" in 2004?
In any case the statute of limitations for filing a 1040X to claim a refund has expired.

Agreed; let it die a quiet death, as it is too late to fix the problem for 2004.
Now, if the tax preparer failed to claim the points (prepaid interest) annotated on the closing statement in 2004, you CAN claim those points on a pro-rated basis each year for the duration of the loan. However, that pro-rated interest will probably NOT be that much.
