I just had the same problem and I contacted the customer service at Hampton. They were able to send me a new sensor. http://www.hamptonproducts.com

Hampton Bay will give you one for free. I just received one Model #7828 has a life time warranty.
Go on line to get their phone number. I must have thrown the number away.
