Don't know, I haven't watched it, I just know its part of the series, I've watched the others though, oh 'land of the dead'
There are tons more zombie movies than just those 4, I just threw some out off the top off my head

house of the dead is not part of the series. It is based on a video game and it is awful. Shawn of the dead is comedy and very good. Night of th living dead from the 60's is the first of the series. Many remakes of those tiltles they are OK. NIght of the creeps, slither are good and World War z is being released. Children shouldn't play with dead things is good 70's b movie.

One of my Favorites is Return of the Living Dead Pt 2. Also not really Zombies but Invasion of the Bodysnatchers is good too

I agree that House of the Dead is pretty poor!
I'm a bit of a zombie enthusiast, so here's my list (in no particular order)
Night of the Living Dead (both the original and remake)
Dawn of the Dead (both original and remake)
Day of the Dead (original only)
Land of the Dead
28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
The Beyond
Zombie Flesh Eaters
Shawn of the Dead
Doghouse (excellent gory comedy)
Braindead (AKA Dead Alive)
Tombs of the Blind Dead
Return of the Evil Dead (not related to the Sam Raimi's Evil Dead films, which some would argue are zombie flicks)
Quarantine
Resident Evil 1,2+3
Zombie Holocaust
Return of the Living Dead 1,2+3
All of these are worth a look (imo), though some are better than others. Personally I don't think Romero's original Dead trillogy can be beaten.
If you fancy something more realistic, The Serpent and The Rainbow is a very good tale of Haitian voodoo zombies.
There's also a really gory mummy film that plays like a zombie movie, but the title escapes me. I'll look it up and get back to you...
As I think of more I'll add them!

Yeah I liked The Beyond--Super Gore!
And Resident Evil are good... Can't wait until Resident Evil 4: After Life!

Here's some more I've thought of
The Dead Next Door
Diary of the Dead
Re-animator
Flight of the Living Dead
There's a Return of the Living Dead 4+5 as well, but I haven't seen them.
I'm looking forward to Z-Wars, the books are excellent.
The mummy film I mentioned earlier is Dawn of the Mummy.

Also, there's an Australian one called Undead which is pretty cool in a weird way.
Day's of Darkness and Stink of Flesh should really be avoided though.
