Hi,

I am a NY resident. If I can chose the working location, what location should I chose between NY and NJ to pay less Tax? Please provide details if possible.

You answer is appreciated.

Regards.

I really does not matter. If you work in NJ, you pay NJ taxes, then get a credit from NY for those NJ taxes. You then pay the higher NY tax rate.

If you live in NY, you pay same amount of tax, but you do NOT have to file a NJ tax return.

No difference in tax paid, but working in NY is less complicated.
