Hello everybody.

I'm a 19-year-old guy and I've been facing a problem for some time now (about a year).

Back in school (two years ago) I used to have very good friends. But since school ended the friendship started to disappear. I started to be stabbed from behind by all my suppose friends. And don't know if it was jealousy (since I entered in the college I wanted and they didn't entered in none) but they started to walk away from me and insulting me behind my back. After several tries to fix the friendship, I gave up. But since then I've been facing the problem that I've no real friends. Sure I've met a lot of people in college but I haven't connected that well with them (we share totally different hobbies - they like to stay at home playing video games, I prefer sports, travelling and spending the night out).

Now, I normally don't go out because I have no real friends, and it's very depressing...

My question is, for a 19-year-old guy, what's the best way to meet new friends? I go to the gym twice a week but since I don't have a fixed schedule there, the people are see there are always different.

Thank you for all the help!:)

I'm sorry about your x-friends, that's too bad but they never really were your friends, if they could do that to you.

It's hard to meet people at the Gym, people are busy working out.
How about the library?
Why don't you look into some clubs with things that you are interested in. The people there will have some of your same interests and you might become friends.
Join a basketball, football, bowling, gardening... etc. team and do some bonding.:D

2 suggestions to ponder over.

1) join a club or something simaler to your likes in hobbies so you have an instant common ground.

2) Volunteer for a caus that suits you. It's a great way to meet people and also your giving back to the community your in. If your in a place and your by yourself then by volunteering you can learn the hot spots etc of the town. Plus the people you meet are giving in nature that's why they are there in the first place. It can make things a whole lot easier.
