I have lived with this furnace for the past ten heating seasons. This season, after it was checked by our HVAC tech, I noticed it making a distinct vrroom sound as it shuts off. What could this be? It seems to be operating normally otherwise (heating the house just fine.)

That could be many things. Was it making this noise when the HVAC person was there? If not call them back and find out what it is.
