I have 2 adult children living at home. One of which is 18 and does not work and the other has her boyfriend (who doesn't work) and 2 children of her own and works. I recently got engaged and I want to sell my home and move on with my life. THEY WON'T LEAVE! How do I get their lazy a$$es out of my house? I have tried sitting down with them, giving them a date as to when they need to be out and telling them ALL to get a job! NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK! I am at my wits end. HELP

Since you posted this in parenting and not the legal forum, I'll give it a shot.

The one child is 18. Just because she's legally an adult doesn't mean that she has to move out. I don't know how you expect her to do this without a job. Jobs aren't easy to come by nowadays, especially with only a high school degree.

As for the second child, she has two children, a job, there's no reason why she can't move out on her own and be responsible for her two children.

You may have to legally evict them. If you do this then they'll have 30 days to leave.

Where is your 18 year old supposed to go? Are you okay with her living on the streets just so you can get married and stop being a mom?

My 18 year old son is not the problem... I guess I should have made that more clear. He can come with me. It is my daughter and family I am trying to have move out.
Thank you for your feedback.
