Hi...

I have a webmail account (linked with my domain name) at 1&1 Internet.

I work between two computers (PC with Outlook, Mac with Mac Mail and an iphone). I would like to set-up email so that it comes to all three devices in realtime - without clicking refresh, so that it will pop up with new mail notifications.

I have read a bit (and been totally confused by) Imap and Pop3 - still not sure of the difference between the two.

But is there are way that folders will also sync between computers? So that if I drag a message to a folder in Outlook it will do the same on the Mac?

Hope this all makes sense and someone can help me!

Many thanks,
Paul

Most e-mail clients can be set to automatically poll their mailboxes. So this is set in the e-mail client. You set the frequency for polling (receiving mail) to a low number, maybe 5 minutes. I wouldn't recommend any shorter than that

You are not going to get absolute real time. And whether its IMAP or POP3 doesn't matter here.

Also make sure you check the advanced settings to leave mail on the server until you delete it in the client. Otherwise, mail may not get to all clients.
