Request, please provide me information on Sales/Environmental Tax which is levied each time items are purchased. I am a seaman with Indian citizenship and the ship is in port of call for 8 hours and we get only 3 to 4 hours to come out. On shopping we are charged with such taxes and I feel that this is injustice to a foreign Seaman who is hardly using any public facility inside the US.

State of Louisiana refunds the sales tax (they don't have environmental tax) at the airport where they have a counter for such cases.

Please revert on this or kindly provide contact where I can file my application to avoid the taxes which are so high when most of the ship's crew salaries are less than $1000 a month.
Thank you - Ajay,

Contact the LAX Airport to see if they have a similar refund procedure desk.
