I currently have a top-loading washer that drains into a utility sink, which I understand to be permitted by code. I was wondering if there is a permissible way to drain the washer under the utility sink (perhaps by having the washer discharge hose connect to the sink drain or by having a washer standpipe that makes a wye connection with the sink drain).
Any thoughts?
The reason I'd like to do this is purely aesthetic -- I don't like seeing the washer discharge hose in the sink. If my plan above won't work, are there other ways to avoid having the washer discharge hose in the sink?
Thanks!
David
