Hi, DEVADATHA!

If you want a free, online degree where it might be based on your life experience, please realize that those are things that are called "degree mills". Having a degree from those sources carry no "real" weight in the real world.

Why they exist, is for them to make money. It's just like years ago, when there would be ads in the back of Popular Mechanics magazine where anyone could send in some money and get a "degree" without doing any real work towards getting the degree because of course requirements that are issued to obtain the degree by the institution.

For instance: I can become a legally, ordained minister in most States in the U.S. if I just send in my $19.95 for the certificate or diploma. Sadly, to become a minister like that is accepted in most States, primarilly because the U.S. government doesn't want to get into the separation of church and State issue as instituted and afforded by the U.S. Constitution. I could get the ordination simply because I could tell them of my "life experience" in doing this or that. They don't ever check up on what you say to see if it's true.

When people get real Ph.D's they are required, by most institutions that are credible as well as accredited, to write a book based upon a certain research topic. If what they write is accepted by a counsel or panel, then they can get the degree.

I could go on, but please do avoid the online degree mills.

Thanks!

P.S. - I still might send in my $19.95 to become a licensed and ordained minister. What the heck! We only live once! The ordination paper might look good on one of my walls! :)
