Hi... I have an ability 2 sense negativity when I go 2 some place or c sum people... I get repeld by dem strongly.. 4 a long tym {until I was 18} I neva knew ol dese things like discernment etc did exist... but when I steped into college I got a friend who is spiritually blessed.. n den later on when she came 2 know more about me she told me I have a high sensitivity 2wards spirits... n I get effectd by dem vry easily... but the only problem with me is I don know hw 2 distinguish between good spirit and evil spirit... I don know how 2 do it..! If I'm able 2 do it.. I can bring a lot of changes around... but until now I don know what is my purpose. What is my gift and hw 2 wisely use it..! So hw can I ditinguish between the spirits?\\\\

I also have the gift of discernement of spirits. God has given all of his followers certain spiritual gifts to help aid the church in ministry. People who have this gift help give insight into the spiritual realm. They can readily determine if a person, place or situation is influenced by evil spirits, divine spirits, or human spirits. If this is the gift of discernment, your purpose is to aid the church in ministry, and warn others if you sense an evil spirit in a situation.

However, since you cannot tell the difference between a divine spirit and an evil spirit, and since you have never sensed a divine spirit, I would say that this is not the gift of discerment. If you had the gift of discernment, you would have... well, discernment!

From the Christian standpoint, I think that instead, you have opened yourself up to negative spirits. It's not that difficult to do. Watching movies or TV with evil content (I have to admit, I love scary movies, but it does cause a lot of fear when I'm alone), playing ouiji board, trying to contact spirits in any way, divination (fortune telling, palm reading, etc.) can all open yourself up to the spiritual realm. Once you've opened yourself up, it's easy for demonic presences to disturb you, which is why you may be "in tune" to sensing negative energies.

I too, can sense if there is 'evil' in places. Some rooms feel different than others. I've been to a total of 4 supposedly "haunted" places. One of the houses had an odd feeling room, and one was very disturbing altogether. The other two had a human- not a divine or evil sense to it. The one place that I have always hated since I was younger is my uncle's trailer. It has always felt uncomfortable, as though there is something in it. A couple years ago, my Christian aunt died in the trailer and was toremented by something before she died. One of my friends has always made me uncomfortable and I sensed something about him. Turns out, he contacts demons as a hobby. I was able to warn some people in our college Bible study about his involvement in evil.

Can you give me an example of these things that you "sense." Where have you sensed evil? Did anything happen to confirm to you that you were REALLy in the presence of evil? Tell me about what you 'feel' when you sense these things.

Der sum places in my clg wich are hauted sort of... wen I c dem I get a vry bad feeling... but due 2 my adventorus mentality and ignorance about sensitivity I used 2 tak my frenz olso der and wanted 2 go tak fotos frm der... den 1 day my friend tol me not 2 go 2 such places wer I get repld... den when I c sum people I get a bad feeling... mayb I don evn know dem but deir face shows sum evn... I am not a spiritual person... I admit that I don pray much but now a days I feel prayin and I do pray but when I start it something tries 2 stop me... 4 eg: I was reading a book on de purpose lyf I am neva able 2 cross the 8th chapter of that book... if I try I can get over this problem... so I want some relevant guidance... hop sum1 can help me out...

I'm also christian as well and I have been praying to god to reveal my spiritual gifts and I THINK one may be spriitual discernment but I am not sure yet (I need to pray more). What are the feelings you experience when you sense a negative spirit? I just talked to someone with the same gift and he told me that whatever I sense is the same thing he does and this whole time I just thought it was just me. Sometimes I would randomly get this feeling of emptiness or that I am cut off from god for 15 sec and I get a temporary feeling of hopelessness but it goes away, like a passing cloud or shadow. I journaled it and there was never really a pattern and I am not depressed (I feel like I am sensing rather than it being my own). I feel like this is either I am not leaning on god enough (spiritual attack) or this is a gift... please help!

I have been able to "discern" or recognize spirits, good or bad, by my feelings, voices I hear and spirits I see. Generally I also hear spirits talking and sometimes they will give me visions. I have been able to recognize if the voices and visions are from God or spirits.
I see that everyone can sense and feel the spiritual realm but some are more gifted than others. I have friends who can feel people's hearts and sometimes perceive thoughts. I help them become more AWARE of their sensitivity by "recognizing" their feelings. As they recognize their sensitivity, meaning they will be able to verbalize it, then I believe they grow in their discernment.

Generally humans are very sensitive but not everyone is discerning. Everyone can sense spirits and perceive thoughts without generally being aware of it.

I guess, I'm learning that people are very sensitive but a few seem to recognize what they are seeing, hearing and feeling. Discernment has allowed me to help people grow in their awareness of their spiritual sensitivity.

Discernment has made me aware of my sensitivity which has heightened my awareness of truth and error. Discernment has made me feel more alive in the spiritual realm.
Knowledge and understanding increase your awareness so you can recognize your own feelings, the voices, and spirits.

People with discernment have a lot of knowledge, understanding and insight to help people see for their lives and what is happening in the spirit realm.

Sensitivity is the ability to feel, see, hear, taste, sense, etc in the spiritual realm.
Discernment is the ability to recognize or be aware of your interaction in the spirit realm.
Everyone has a gut feeling but some can recognize it and than when people with discernment verbalize their sensitivity then it will generally confirm the others and heighten people with lower levels of awareness or discernment.

Prophetic people generally are more discerning because they have to recognize the spirits that are speaking.
Apostolic people are discerning because of their required level of perception of truth. They are, after all, foundation builders.
