Hello. My husband was arrested two weeks ago when he went to see his probation officer because of a failed drug test. He was arrested on the spot and has been in jail every since. I talked to his PO and he said he would ask judge to reinstate and send him for rehab. He also said it could take a while for him to see the judge and I can't bond him out until then. I really have two questions.

Does anyone know how long this usually takes before they get a court date?

If I hire an attorney, what are the chances we could get a court date sooner than if we did not have one?

I am in Alabama and would appreciate any info you guys could give me!

Hello Tam:

He's probably scheduled for court... Sure, if you hire a lawyer, he probably can move it up. But how much is a couple weeks worth? Lawyers are expensive.

I really can't answer the "how long" part, but generally having a lawyer expedites your case faster than if you don't have a lawyer.
