So I woke up today and started having lower cramps in my stomach. And later tonight I realized I was spotting brown. It was on my underwear and on the tissue. My back has had some pain today too. I don't know why and I was wondering. Have any answers?

How old are you? It sounds like your period is starting.

I'm 25. I'm on birth control and it's not due for another two weeks. I'm a usual 28 day cycle even though my periods have been short and light, but I've had it. I just don't know what it is.

I took a pregnancy test last month and it came up negative. So I don't think it could be that, but I just don't know what.

Have you missed any pills? Have you taken them at irregular times?

Yea actually I have. I missed a night so I took a double dose to catch up.

Could this be the cause? Because my husband and I have a 2 year old and we weren't planning on trying for baby number two this instance.

It could be the cause... but you missed a pill, that puts you at higher risk for pregnancy. Remember, for the pill to be effective you have to take it at the same time every day.
