I have about an 8 week old puppy. We've had a few accidents, yes, but what is really driving me nuts is she does not like being alone for more than 2 seconds. The moment I put her in her kennel or put her in her room with a pet gate up and step out of sight, she starts whining, barking and making all kinds of noise. Her kennel is in my room and when its bedtime, she's fine. She knows I'm in the room with her and she has no problem. Only when she's left alone. And the worst part is, if I try to ignore it, she expels her bowels on the floor or kennel, or wherever she is. I can't get anything done around the house and its driving me nuts. I have a fenced in yard but its also Minnesota and about -5 lately so its too cold to stay outside. I've had her for a week and am at my wits end. Every day I have to give her a bath and I just don't know what else to do. I've tried giving new toys, spraying her with a squirt gun when she starts barking and whining, turning a radio on in the room, leaving for just a minute and coming back, telling her no bark. Nothing can assuage her. Anyone have any ideas?

When you have to leave her alone, make sure she has gone outside just before.

It's unfortunately something that will probably just take time. Completely ignore her when she is acting like this. She wants attention - even squirting her and coming back to tell her not to bark is attention in her eyes.
